The "course landaise" is one of the four bull fighting styles (spanish, portugese and those of the Camargue) practised around the world. In the south west it has been practised since the XVth century and has become a tradition in les Landes.

The course landaise reveals the bull fighter's skill through different artistic figures such as the "écart" (making the bull swerve) and the jump. It is also practised with music, either with bands or with harmonics.

Two characteristics distinguish the course landaise from the other styles:
- practically only cows are used (vaches landaises) and not bulls
- the animal is not killed.

You can watch this traditional sport during the summer season (July/August)
