The resort has now become the European surf capital. ?At the start – in the 60’s – there were only a few who dived into the water with their makeshift boards. The reputation of the Hossegor spots was very quickly spread by word of mouth throughout the world of surf. They came from the USA, from Australia and from?South Africa to spend time on the coast of les Landes and try out the “Hossegor wave”. The enthusiasm and experience of these?passionate surfers has greatly contributed to the development of a new generation totally committed to the sport.?Few regions can claim so many favorable conditions which is why Hossegor, home from home for surfers, has become the European surf capital.

la Gravière : spot that participates (with the North) in the world-renowned Hossegor in terms of big surfing. For experienced surfers.
la Nord : it is the best known spot of Hossegor and the Landes coast because the surfable waves can reach 6 meters
la Centrale : the tourist beach of Hossegor where it is very difficult to surf under a swell of 2 m.
